Tip Options
These húdiédāo are replicas of a historical steel pair of knives from my own personal collection that date to the mid 1800’s.
The húdiédāo are a type of double swords (also known as butterfly swords or knives) and are thought to have originated in or around the port cities of southern China. In Cantonese they are commonly called bat jaam do "eight cutting knives" by modern day Wing Chun practitioners. In Mandarin they are pronounced bāzhǎndāo. These dual-wielded blades were believed to be historically used by sailors and militia for close-quarters combat. The blades are long and slender, designed primarily for thrusting and slicing techniques, tapering evenly from the guard to the tip.
Choose a "pointed blade tip" for forms and light to medium contact training, or a "rounded blade tip" for robust controlled partner training.
