Podao or pudao is a Chinese single-edged infantry pole weapon with a blade similar in shape to a large saber. It is used for training in various Chinese martial arts. The podao is sometimes called a "horse-cutter sword". It is said to have been used to cut down enemy horses during battle.
The handle is constructed from two laminated hickory boards for maximum durability and to help prevent warping. The hickory blade is made with a 12" tang which is laminated and riveted into the handle for superior strength. With a ball pommel.
